You are given a runway bearing and the circuit direction (left-hand or right-hand). Work out the heading of each leg: every leg is the previous one turned 90° in the circuit direction.
Left-hand circuit: turn left each time, so subtract 90°. Runway 090 → crosswind 360, downwind 270, base 180.
Right-hand circuit: turn right each time, so add 90°. Runway 090 → crosswind 180, downwind 270, base 360.
Downwind is always the reciprocal (±180°) whichever way you turn. Keep answers between 001 and 360 (000 is accepted as 360).
How to play: type the three bearings, tap CHECK. The compass reveals the real bearings — green for correct, red for wrong — and draws the circuit, with the runway lying along its true bearing on the rose. Ten runways per round, scored out of 10; your rounds are saved on this device.
Modes. PILOT is untimed — take as long as you need. TOWER adds the timer bar: you get 30 seconds on the first runway and two seconds less on every runway after it, down to 12 seconds on the last. Run out of time and the runway scores nothing.
